Mini Sci-Fun

The students of G.V.M`S college of  B.Ed  as a part of internship conducted a mini Sci-fun activity in Shri Shradhanand Vidyalaya, Paingin Canacona school for all students including Primary students also. It was organized in the school science laboratory. Students were very enthusiastic and excited to witness this program. Sci Fun is an initiative taken by Dr.Anna Neena George to promote the science learning in a fun manner for School students across Goa, we adapted the same concept to conduct the program in Shri Shradhanand Vidyalaya, school.

Students found the program mind boggling as something like this was never done for them, they never learnt science concept in such an enjoyable and fun manner without taxing much on their brains. We demonstrated many interesting science experiments and also showed them a presentation of fun facts in science. The overall response was very good, students were joyous and somewhere we have ignited that spark of curiosity in their mind that’s the true purpose of our sci fun program.

LIST OF EXPERIMENTS FOR MINI SCI-FUN WERE AS FOLLOWS:
   1. Strange Arrow ( This experiment was based on the principle of Refraction)
   2. Moving Pepper ( This experiment was based on  Surface  Tension)
   3. Density Tower ( This experiment  was based on Density)
   4. Invisible Ink ( This experiment was based on Oxidation process)
   5. Power Of Rice ( This experiment was based on Friction)
   6. Float or Sink Egg Experiment ( This experiment was based on the principle of Density)
   7. Soil Profile ( This experiment was to show different layers of soil i.e. Horizons of soil)
   8. Plastic baggie magic ( Since plastic bags are made out of polymers, chain of molecules  that are flexible and give the bag its stretchiness)
9.Leaf Venation ( Reticulate and Parallel venation in different types of leaves)
